9Cr3Mo is a high carbon chromium molybdenum alloy forged steel, which is characterized by deep quenching hardening layer, high hardness, high wear resistance and heat cracking resistance. It is the mainstream material for cold rolling mill work rolls and is commonly used in 4/6-roll cold rolling mills and leveling machines.

Compared to 9Cr2Mo, the hardened layer is deeper, the tempering stability is better, the sensitivity to hot cracks is lower, the rolling cycle is longer, and the frequency of roll changing is less

Production process

Smelting: electric arc furnace+electric slag remelting (ESR), high purity
Forging: upsetting and stretching to ensure fiber continuity and high density
Heat treatment:
1.Normalization+spheroidization annealing+hydrogen expansion
2.Quenching and tempering (880 ℃ oil cooling+640 ℃ tempering)
3.Power frequency induction hardening (900-920 ℃)+deep cooling+low temperature tempering (320-340 ℃)
Machining: rough turning → fine grinding → ultra fine grinding
